Meet Raj Reddy, MobileCorp Technical Solutions Consultant

Raj Reddy has joined the MobileCorp team as a Technical Solutions Consultant. Let's find out a little more about him.

Raj joins MobileCorp as a seasoned Technical Solutions Consultant with more than two decades of experience and exceptional technical capabilities in IT Infra projects including IP Telephony, Unified Communications (UCaaS, CCaaS), Cloud, MPLS, SD-WAN and Network Security. 

In his role he is a resource for our customers seeking technical advice, and also for the MobileCorp team by developing great solutions to meet customer goals.

How would you describe your role at MobileCorp? 

My role as a solutions consultant is to first understand clients’ IT needs, problems, issues, and pain points, then analyse their current IT infrastructure, and finally propose and implement a solution that is fit for purpose.

What do you bring to the customer conversation?

As Steve Jobs said: "You’ve got to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology."

What I love about my job is the problem-solving. I always start with understanding the outcome or CX the customer wants to achieve.  I then map those needs against the technologies available and I analyse what the best fit would be and what tangible results the customer could expect.  I am not trying to 'sell' to the customer. I explain how the proposed solution would meet their objectives and what future benefits it will bring to them in terms of cost effectiveness, scalability, ease of operation and maintenance. Finally, I explain how Mobile Corp would approach the execution of the proposed solution.

How much has technology changed since you began your career ?

There has been tremendous change in technology development since I started my career as a Network Field Engineer 23 years ago. A few examples of development of technology from those days to now are:

•  IT Infrastructure

On premises IT infrastructure setup of organisations has transformed and transitioned into datacentres, Software Defined Networks (SDN) and SD-WANs.

• IP Telephony & Mobile Technology

Businesses are adopting SIP-based IP Telephony systems moving on from traditional phone systems which were based on PSTN or ISDN. Most of the IP telephony solutions are now fully hosted on the cloud.

Mobile technology evolution is phenomenal.  We used to have pagers initially and little later basic 2G mobile phones. Now you can see, what we have in our hands is nothing less than a high-capacity computer which provides voice and data equally. This has become possible with advent of 4G and 5G technologies, and this is only the start. We are not even at intermediate stage of mobile technology growth yet.  

• Cloud Technologies

This is a revolutionary modern IT Technology. When I started my career it was beyond my imagination that an IT Infrastructure (IaaS), application development platform (PaaS), Software (SaaS) and even Security (SECaaS) could be provided and utilised remotely from the cloud.

What technologies are you most interested in?

In general, I like to know and learn about all IT technologies, however, I am particularly interested in infrastructure-related technologies like Data centres, Virtualisation, Unified Communications and wireless technologies like 4G and 5G.

Why did you choose to work for Mobile Corp?

When I was trying to research about MobileCorp before I joined, the first thing that impressed me was the website, It is so well organised and there was a clear vision and goals like who they are, what they do, how they do it and the reputation they have acquired over the last 30 years.

Secondly, as I went through the recruitment process, I came to understand the MobileCorp work culture, how much the leadership team values and gives freedom to their employees to express themselves in a creative way. 

Tell us something about you that we don't know

I like studying psychology and human behaviour. Sometimes I retreat into myself when I am working on a solution. It's my way of focusing and finding good ideas. I am quite a focused person and don’t browse anything else other than technology or spirituality related topics.
